SCHOLARSHIPS

 

The Emporia Community Foundation oversees many scholarship funds. Most are handled directly through the schools that are included in the scholarship parameters. Applications for widely available scholarships may be found on this page.

What's In Outdoors Scholarship

The What's In Outdoors Fund was created to serve those interested in getting youth and families "Outside for a Better Inside!" The fund provides a scholarship to Kansas kids interested in making a career out of environmental education or related areas in photography, journalism, communications and conserving our natural resources.

This $1,000 scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors and current college or university students in the state of Kansas. Students must be attending a college or university in Kansas with Kansas based career goals. The student should be majoring in a wildlife or nature-based curriculum including outdoors journalism.
 
Applications must be sent to the Emporia Community Foundation by May 1st. 
 
 

What's In Outdoors Lyon County 4-H Scholarship

The What's In Outdoors Fund was created to serve those interested in getting youth and families "Outside for a Better Inside!" This $1,000 scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors that is a Lyon County, Kansas 4-H club member. Student must be attending Emporia State University with Kansas based career goals. The student should be majoring in a wildlife or nature-based curriculum including outdoors journalism.
 
Applications must be sent to the Emporia Community Foundation by May 1st.
