Flint Hills Youth Impact Council

The Flint Hills Youth Impact Council is a youth philanthropy and leadership program of the Emporia Community Foundation designed for students in 9th through 12th grade.
Through hands-on service, community engagement, and philanthropy, students will learn how they can use their time, talents, and resources to make a difference in the communities where they live.
What is the Youth Impact Council?
Members of the Flint Hills Youth Impact Council will:
- Explore the needs and opportunities within our local communities
- Learn how philanthropy can create meaningful change
- Participate in hands-on community service
- Work together to identify and address community needs
- Develop leadership, teamwork, and decision-making skills
- Build connections with community leaders and organizations
- Complete 40 hours of community service throughout their high school years
This isn't just about volunteering. It's about understanding why service matters, learning how communities create change, and becoming the people who help make that change happen.
A Four-Year Journey
Students join the Council as high school freshmen and have the opportunity to grow as leaders throughout their high school experience.
9th Grade — Discover
Learn about philanthropy, community needs, and the role young people can play in creating change.
10th Grade — Engage
Deepen community involvement through service and hands-on experiences.
11th Grade — Lead
Take on greater responsibility and begin putting leadership and philanthropic skills into action.
12th Grade — Impact
Reflect on the difference you've made, celebrate your accomplishments, and prepare to carry a spirit of service into the future.
The Reward
Students who successfully complete the program's requirements will be eligible to apply for a scholarship in their senior year from this program as recognition of their commitment to service and community leadership.
The Flint Hills Youth Impact Council is for students who believe they can make a difference — and are ready to put that belief into action.
